Let's begin this journey of revelations with an inspiring quote by Mark Twain:
"Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones that you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
You do not want to look back in your past one day and wonder why you never tried to pursue a dream, learn something new, or do something to make a difference. First of all, life does not follow your agenda. If it did, none of us would learn what we needed to learn in order to grow.
Secondly, when you set intentions or goals to pursue, know that unexpected experiences will arise that will give you unplanned opportunities. You get to choose which road you will take. Results of choices or efforts are not immediate. Instead, learn to enjoy the ride of the pursuit.
Lastly, prepare yourself for change. Change is good. You are never too old to change or pursue a goal. The key is to pursue something you sincerely feel strongly about and to start NOW.
This is your personal workbook of self-growth. Get a diary that you can keep your notes to yourself. Date your entries and always be honest with yourself. Over time, as you review what you have written, you are likely to see changes emerge or be able to understand something about yourself better.
Whatever it is that emerges, learn to observe yourself and take full responsibility for your growth. This mindset will make it possible for you to discover how to live your life to fullest. Never stop exploring, dreaming and discovering!
